Pat Riley Statement on future statue in Los Angeles:
“One of my first messages to the team was ‘The journey of a thousand miles
starts with our first step. Where it takes you, is up to us.’ And it took us
to five championships in the 80’s with the Showtime Lakers.
It was a hell of a journey and the fact that it’s ending up with the arrival
of a statue is mind blowing to me. I’d like to thank Jeanie and the entire
Buss family for this honor.”
Pat Riley 對於未來於洛杉磯設立雕像的聲明：
「我對球隊的第一個訊息是：『千里之行，始於足下。我們的旅程會走向何方，取決於我
們自己。』而這趟旅程在80年代帶領我們贏得了五次冠軍，成就了 Showtime Lakers 的
輝煌。
這是一段了不起的旅程，而這旅程最終以設立雕像作為結果，對我來說簡直難以置信。我
想感謝 Jeanie 以及整個 Buss 家族授予我這樣的榮譽。」
